Our Team
Our team of professionals includes everyone from inspired artists to brilliant computer geeks with a few highly skilled "business type" people in between. Everyday, we create, solve interesting problems and blue-sky think together. We also like to play together. But at the end of the day, when we put away our PS III controllers and shut down the office ipod, it's all about what we've accomplished as professionals that really counts.
We're a small but mighty team of people that works seamlessly together to create products that help our clients to achieve remarkable things. We're proud of the work we do. And we're proud to work with one another.

Christian Clapton Chief Executive Officer
When Christian was 7, he opened his first lemonade stand. Within the first week, he was coaching neighbourhood kids on how to expand their businesses. A true entrepreneur and business visionary, Christian has grown considerably from his street-vending days. However, one thing remains the same: helping others to achieve success. As our founder and CEO, Christian intellectually and intuitively "gets" what's beneath the surface, revealing our CU partners' core goals and motivations and knowing precisely how to extend that online in a result-oriented strategy. On top of that, he knows just how to lead our team through proven processes that deliver tangible results. Today, what really drives Christian - and our business forward - is knowing that we are making our CU partners happy as they expand their own vision of what is possible for themselves and their Credit Unions. This is what sets Christian - and CUmarketing - apart from the competition.
Christian plays key roles on our management and creative teams.
Keith Ginter Chief Technical Officer
Our agency took on a whole new life when Keith became business partner and Chief Technical Officer in 2004. Since that time, our business has flourished under his vision, guidance and experience. Before coming on board, Keith hailed from Winnipeg where he was the senior developer of a large interactive marketing and technology agency. Today, he sits at the helm as Chief Technical Officer, SCALA wiz and account executive, supporting the team in all technical aspects of every project and lending his vast knowledge of programming, web design and interface concepts.
Keith is a strong leader, motivating our team to find creative, effective ways to add value to our CU partners' and their Credit Unions. With a solid focus on developing products that serve the specific needs of each project, Keith pushes our team forward to the leading edge of what our industry offers, and beyond.

Rachel Milan Vice President, Business Development
As VP of
Business Development for CUmarketing, Rachel brings a lot more than
considerable business expertise to the table. She also brings the valuable
experience of being a Credit Union
marketing director, giving our team incredibly valuable insight into how -
precisely - we can meet the needs of the people and organizations we serve. She knows
first hand the challenges that Credit Union marketing teams face and understands
everything from branding and messaging to budget negotiations and meeting ROI
expectations. She "gets" the crucial link between marketing and membership and
has a clear vision for what needs to be done to meet the changing needs of
membership and the internal goals of
a CU. She also happens to be an incredibly fun and charming gal whose pretty
easy to be around.
Rachel plays key roles on our management and creative teams.
Mark Huxley Vice President, Information
Technology
When
Mark joined the CUmarketing team, he brought more than his British culture to
the table. He also brought years of experience in the IT profession and considerable
skill as a project manager. Not only does Mark keep everything on track and on
time, he is deeply driven to ensure
that all of our clients are ecstatic with the services we provide. In his
words, ‘increasing the profits of our CU
partners is the reason I get out of bed in the morning.' Mark's also a
fantastic team player who does everything he can to support our staff in
working smarter, playing harder and doing the best work in the most fun and
creative environment possible. When Mark's not on the phone, in a meeting or at
our offices, he's at home loving life with his family.
Mark plays key roles on our management and development teams.
Jeff Coomber Information Architecture Director
Jeff's pre-CUmarketing life included six years in the television and multimedia industry where he brought together the worlds of web, video and television production. He joined our team in 2007 as our Information Architect, a craft that involves understanding exactly what users need when they come to the web and precisely how to design web properties and online applications to make sure that they get it. He's also a key player in creating and executing user friendly design, marketing strategy, industry research, branding and creative processes. Jeff is particularly insightful when it comes to our CU partners, working closely with them to understand their vision and staying with the project every step of the way until that vision becomes a reality.
Jeff plays key roles on our management, creative and development teams.
Kathy Matkin Copy Director
As
our creative writer, Kathy uses her skills to help our CU partners with the
difficult task of telling their own stories. A wordsmith at heart, she loves to
spin words to create a message that is compelling, engaging and rings with an authentic
flair unique to each Credit Union. She also works closely with CU partners, engaging them in conversations that reveal who
their end-users (personas) really are and what they are really looking for. This persona development is the corner-stone
of our member-centric design philosophy. Kathy
offers a unique combination of communication and intuitive skills that are
central to our creative process.
Kathy plays key roles on our creative and development teams.
Michelle Muldowney Art Director
Michelle's
destiny as an artist was sealed at the age of three when, permanent marker in
hand, she redecorated the walls and furniture of her family home. She extended that artistic vision by
colouring herself in - head to toe. Since that time, Michelle has pursued her art in many different mediums
- print, photography digital graphics and kitchen design. Michelle brings a fresh voice, vision and style to our creative team along with
an impressive portfolio and education in print and design. As an artist, Michelle is inspired by neo-traditional
design, rockabilly/hot-rod/pinup styles and loves anything that involves
vintage artwork. On top of all that, what's not to love about a girl whose
middle name was inspired by Star Wars?
Michelle plays key roles on our creative and development teams.
Paul Plato Lead Programmer
From advanced XHTML, CSS and JavaScript, Cold Fusion to hand coding, there is
no coding problem that Paul can't solve. He's skilled with Flex and
actionscript development as well as C#/VB .Net development and possesses
exceptional database skills. He's also continually evolving and learning, most
recently adding Ajax coding and integration with Active Directory to his long
list of skills. Paul's been a key member of our team since 2005, but has been
soaking up everything he can about the industry for the past 9 years. At CUmarketing, he brings his skill to the table as head programmer ensuring the
best in code, implementation and functionality for all of our clients'
projects. The fact that he develops code in his spare time just for fun speaks
to his natural talent and vision. It's no surprise that his code consistently
outperforms his industry peers.
Paul plays a key role on our development team.
Dave McClung Programmer
Dave joined our team in October 2010 and likes to refer to
himself as our ‘Ninja Assassin Level 99 Black Belt Programmer'. His skills are no joking matter, however.
Dave started his career in programming in 1996, but has been playing with code
as a hobby since 1983. He is detail oriented and team-focused, exceeding client
expectations with precision and clarity every time. When Dave's not programming
- which isn't often - he's hanging out with his family, enjoying some form of
extreme adventure sport or - in his words - laying
down a beating in NHL '11. What's not to love about this guy?
Isaac Prusky Social Marketing Strategist and Support
Isaac brings a refreshing perspective and energy into our mix, offering an invaluable perspective on what people are looking for online and precisely where they're looking for it. His primary role with CUmarketing is as our social marketing strategist, which includes industry knowledge of everything from Facebook to Google, Twitter to YouTube. He also researches industry trends, writes, edits and tests our products, a true "behind the scenes" guy who works diligently to fill the gaps and take care of the details. If you need something done, just ask Isaac. His unique brand of kindness, quirky humour, responsibility and helpfulness simply makes life easier for everyone.

Evan Deitz Account Executive
A recent graduate of the
Lethbridge College Business Administration Program (Marketing), Evan came to us
highly recommended by his professors. With his well-rounded skill set, it's
easy to see why. He assists with the management of our large client base, applies his considerable
industry research and marketing skills and brings a fresh approach to all of our
projects. Not only does Evan share our "get it done" work ethic, he adds to the
hockey fanatic culture of our team. While he's one of the more soft-spoken people around our office, his quick wit, fantastic work ethic and willingness to push forward make him a great fit for our team and our CU partners.
Evan plays key roles on our management, creative and development teams.
Cass Loff Administrative Assistant
As
administrative assistant and one of our newest team members, Cass has what it
takes to fit into our eclectic group. Not only does she offer our clients great service, she also manages to
keep all of us on track. She answers phones, organizes the office, takes care
of our clients and pretty much does everything to make sure things don't fall
through the cracks of our busy organization. If you need something done, turn
to Cass. She'll take care of you. When she's not busy working in the office,
Cass is volunteering in our community, enjoying the outdoors, dressing up her
beloved puppy for a holiday celebration or admiring her 90's collection of
Trolls. Seriously.
